How to use the birthday countdown
Calculate calendar days and Monday-to-Friday weekdays until the next occurrence of a birthday.
Formula or method
The month and day are placed in the current year, or the next year when that date has passed.
Worked examples
Birthday later this year
If today is May 1 and the birthday is August 15, the result counts forward to August 15 this year.
Birthday already passed
If the birthday date has passed this year, the calculator automatically uses next year.
Weekend comparison
A 10-day countdown spanning two weekends can contain only six or eight Monday-to-Friday weekdays.
Frequently asked questions
Does the birth year affect the countdown?
The year is used to show the age you will turn. The countdown uses the next occurrence of the entered month and day.

Are public holidays excluded from weekdays?
No. Weekdays count Monday through Friday and do not remove national or local holidays.
Which timezone is used?
The calculation uses the date and timezone settings of your browser device.
Limitations
